Catalina 25 Swing Keel Removal Notes & Thoughts

The swing keel was originally removed at a marina using a travel lift, welded steel generic swing keel handling fixtures, and a pair of 55gal. drums.  The keel was then sandblasted, and the pivot hole was bored to 1.5" for a bronze bushing.  A forklift and rope sling were used to place the keel in a pair of custom fitted wooden handling fixtures in the bed of  a pickup truck for the trip home.
